The Blessings of Life

Dreamer; Temple; Stimson

Last year's trip was Mexico,
And next we go to Kokomo.
A thousand pictures, and they're all of you!
We know
That we're not made of money.
We know
Everything we say is funny.
And most of all, I recall the things we do.
We're building memories.
We're making melodies.
It's been five years now,
And I don't remember how
We got to where we are, but I'm so glad.
These were the best five years I think I've ever had.

Santa says the kids all sleep,
So you and I, downstairs we sneak.
So many presents -- yet they've been so good!
We know
We have such good intention.
We know
That life is our invention.
And just for fun, we have done the things we could.
We're seeing life go fly.
It hasn't passed us by.
It's been ten years now,
And I don't remember how
We got to where we are, but I'm so glad.
These were the best ten years we ever could have had.

There's no way of knowing,
But look where we're going!
There's a golden light ahead.
It's a blessing there to be led.

You speak but one word, and I know
Exactly where you want to go.
A million mem'ries, and they're all of you!
We know
A lifetime filled with caring.
We know
A house that's full of sharing.
The kids are grown, and they have known the love we knew.
My heart's a wishing well.
Our love no tongue can tell.
It's been many years now,
And we both remember how
We got to where we are, and we're so glad.
You have been the best wife that I could have had.
